Add your brick

Choose your message and an optional photograph, check the preview and give your permission to publish. Your brick is added straight to the public Wall. You do not need an account or an access code.

Your place on the Wall

The Together Wall is run by the Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA UK) to show support for people affected by pulmonary hypertension and help people talk about PH. Contributions from people of all ages are welcome. Taking part is optional and does not affect any support you receive from PHA UK.

You can choose a first name or nickname, a message and a campaign symbol. A photograph is optional. Please leave out surnames, contact details, schools, exact locations and information that could put someone at risk. Do not include treatment advice or another person’s private health information.

Only share a photograph if you have the right to use it and everyone identifiable has agreed to its use on this public Wall. A parent or guardian must give permission for a child’s contribution or photograph. A child’s wishes must also be respected.

You may share your own experience of PH, but you do not have to give health details. Please think carefully about what you want other people to know. A message or photograph can reveal health information even if you do not name a condition.

Permission to publish

We will ask for your consent to receive and publish your contribution. We will ask separately for explicit consent to use any health information you choose to include, and for permission to use an optional photograph. These choices will not be pre-ticked or combined with marketing permission.

When you submit, your chosen name, message, symbol and photograph will be visible to anyone who visits the Wall. Other people may copy or share what they see. Permission for the Wall does not give PHA UK permission to reuse your contribution in a separate publication, fundraising appeal or social media post without agreeing that use with you.

You can withdraw your consent and ask for your contribution to be removed.

Looking after the Wall

Contributions appear automatically and are not checked by the team before publication. The PHA UK team can remove material that is harmful, discloses private information without permission or does not follow our community guidelines.

The website will keep the submitted content, your permission record and the references needed for moderation and removal in a dedicated database in London. Pictures are resized and embedded picture metadata is removed. Vercel hosts the website and Neon provides the database.

Changing your mind

After publishing, you can save a private removal link. Open it to check or remove your brick. There is no access code needed to add a brick. Anyone with your removal link can remove that brick, so keep it private.

For a lost code, a correction, a concern about another contribution or help withdrawing permission, contact phday@phauk.org. The PHA UK team handles these requests.

Removing a brick takes it off the Wall and erases its name, message, photograph and permission content from the live database. PHA UK cannot remove copies already made by other people.

How long information is kept

• Published bricks: no automatic expiry. They may remain while the Wall continues to serve its awareness and community purpose, unless you withdraw permission or PHA UK removes them. The team will review the continuing need at least annually, including whether permissions remain appropriate.
• Unpublished records: public contributions do not normally wait in a queue. Any unpublished submission records are erased after seven days.
• Rejected or removed bricks: personal content is erased immediately from the live database. A minimal record of the reference, status, handling dates and hashed technical identifiers is retained for 365 days to record the action and prevent a retry restoring the brick. This does not mean keeping the removed photograph or message for 12 months.

Restricted recovery backups may temporarily contain deleted information. They are not part of the public Wall. Removed contributions must remain removed if a backup is restored. Neon describes a 30-day retention period for its encrypted recovery backups. Deleted information in recovery copies is kept beyond use and must not be returned to public service.

Your choices and rights

Taking part is voluntary. Consent to receive and publish your contribution, including explicit consent for health information, can be withdrawn. Minimal security and removal records are handled separately from your permission to publish; they do not include the removed message or photograph.
