Footsteps for PHighters

03

Log your Footsteps for PHighters

Cover any distance, in your own way, on PH Day UK or beyond!

Let’s get moving together. Walk or wheel, on foot or in a chair or on a scooter, to celebrate PHighters around the UK. Why not turn it into a fundraiser?

Here are just a few ideas:

  • Walk or wheel a mile on Friday 6th November (PH Day UK)
  • Stroll a lap of your garden every day for a week
  • Cover 30km in November – the equivalent of 1km a day

Want to raise money too? Sponsorship is completely optional. The PHA UK fundraising kit (opens another website) and fundraising ideas (opens another website) are there if they help.

The PHighter Challenge

Take on an extra special challenge with the PHighter app

Download our brand-new app and travel the Yorkshire Three Peaks trail, one entry at a time. After each walk or wheel, add your distance in miles or kilometres and watch yourself move along the route. Reach a landmark and you’ll unlock a postcard with a local story and a PH fact worth sharing.

Can’t manage a walk every time? Log minutes of gentle movement instead… physio, seated exercise and chair yoga all count, and every 15 minutes carries you 1km along the trail. Need a rest? Take a breather and your place on the trail is kept. No leaderboards, no streaks, no pressure… just your own journey, at your own pace.

You can also connect the app to your myPHA fundraising page, so friends and family can cheer you on as you go.

App Store and Play Store links will appear here once approved

Write to your MP

Could you ask your local MP to show their support for PH Day UK?

Sending them a letter or email that asks them to post on social media is a simple and effective way to reach people. It’s an easy way for MPs to show public support for their constituents, and as most have a high number of followers, it’s win-win!

The details you type stay in this browser until you copy the letter or open it in your email app. PHA UK does not receive your letter through this editor. The template mentions a PH diagnosis; only send information you are comfortable sharing with your MP. How PHA UK uses your information

Tap the pink blanks and type, then use the buttons below to copy the letter or send it by email. Prefer Word? Download the template and edit it there.

Dear ,

My name is and I am a constituent living on in .

I live with a rare medical condition called pulmonary hypertension (PH for short), a life-limiting disease that causes high blood pressure in the blood vessels connecting the heart and lungs. There is no cure, and some people require heart and / or lung transplants.

I am writing to ask if you will consider supporting an annual awareness initiative by the national charity Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA UK) by sharing a post on your social media channels.

PH Day UK takes place on Friday 6th November 2026 and I’d really appreciate you posting on that date to show your support.

Some suggested wording is below:
